These pages concentrate on Belinda's solo career - her releases with the successful all-girl group, the "Go Go's" are not listed here. In the UK and Europe, Belinda's early solo CD singles and 12" singles are very collectable.
The reason for this is that Virgin records tended to release quite a few "special formats" for her releases such as picture discs, poster sleeves, including free postcards or making the CD singles "picture discs" etc. Do be careful however when looking to buy some of the items however - prices vary considerably, so shop around! Recently, prices seem to have gone up considerably for the older items.
Her latest records have not sold so well in the UK (or elsewhere) and so whilst they maybe scarcer in the future, they can be picked up reasonably cheaply at the moment. There have also been some nice items from the US, Japan and Australia amongst other locations. Especially worth looking out for are the items with different OBI strips from Japan.
Perhaps now is the time to invest in some bargain "promo" items, which surely can only increase in value, especially if Belinda makes a return to chart "form" in the future.
In addition to the various "Return to the 80's" type of shows with multiple acts that Belinda performs, she also engaged in a short tour of the UK in 2014 as well as a US tour with the Go Go's. In fact 2013 - 2014 were great years for Belinda fans with Edsel Records (part of the Demon Music Group) re-releasing all of her solo CDs in remastered and expanded forms. These have been presented in very attractive "book" style packages. There were also some new compilations.
2015-16 saw Edsel somewhat milking the back catalogue with a CD singles box set and different reissues of "Heaven On Earth" (vinyl picture disc and "special edition" CD) as well as more compilations and Anthology sets. Most of these had promo items pressed too.
2017 saw another tour, a yoga-based CD (!) and the release of the "Super Deluxe" 40th Anniversary Edition of the "Heaven On Earth" album (initial copies included a signed print). Demon Records then went over the top with yet more coloured vinyl releases of the albums and 2019 bought the Super Deluxe Edition box of Runaway Horses - again supported by a tour.
As we move on from 2020-22, Demon are finding excuses to reissue the back catalogue with an array of coloured vinyl variations as well as super-deluxe boxed sets.
2023-24 finds yet more reissues of the same albums - this time with Half Speed Master versions, more limited Picture Discs and 3 CD compilation boxed sets under the "Decades" banner. I actually can't think of a comparable artist where the same material is re-hashed by the official record label so frequently.
So things are looking on the up for Belinda fans and collectors - especially those with lots of spare cash! Thanks to Franco for some additions in the discography section. All additions and corrections are gratefully received!
